ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP

Alumni Scholarship scheme was initiated in the year 2021-22 by the Alumni of our Polytechnic College. Scholarship is awarded to students based on their merit and economic background.

Rs.25000/-was distributed to the students during academic year 2021-22 and it was given to 6 students This Academic year 2022-23 Three Alumni have donated Rs.85,000/- and it was distributed to 11 students.- click here

Canada India Project

Main Objective of Canada India Institutional Cooperation Project(CIICP)

The Canada India Institutional Cooperation Project (CIICP) is a major Human Resource Development Project launched during the year 1991 through a Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Govt. of Canada and the Govt. of India. The main objective of the Project is to train the staff of the Polytechnic Colleges to improve the quality and enhance the quantum of the human resource potential and to achieve development in Polytechnic Education System.

The Project was initially funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and initiatives formulated and executed jointly by the Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) and the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India. When the Project came to an end on 31st March, 1999, the State Project Coordination Unit (SPCU) was formed and SPCU is taking steps to achieve holistic development in Polytechnic Education System.

At present, 105 Polytechnic Colleges are participating in this Program. Various job oriented, need-based training programs are offered by the CIICP Polytechnic Colleges under Continuing Education Programs.

FEATURES of CIICP:

  • Many value added courses can be conducted through CIICP in our campus.
  • Students will pay and study these value added courses within the campus.
  • Faculty also will get trained up in these courses.

In the presence of Our management trustees the CIICP – CENTER was opened on 13-02-2015 , Friday in our college by Mr. K. SABAPATHY – former co ordinator – SPCU,CHENNAI, Dr. K. VISALAKSHI- project coordinator- SPCU- DOTE., and Tmt. HEMALATHA KRISHNASWAMY- State WID rep/ SP facilitator – chennai.

HEALTH CAMP – organized by NSS unit / SRPTC & – APPOLLO HOSPITALS , CHENNAI – HEALTH CAMP


The National Service Scheme, a permanent student-youth programme implemented in educational institutions is sponsored by both Central and State Governments. The Motto of NSS is Not Me, But You. The over all objective is Development of Personality of Student-Youth through Community Service. A wide range of activities under this programme aim at inculcating positive values, enhancing leadership qualities and promoting national integration, social harmony, healthy life styles, etc. These activities are carried out under two major areas namely, Regular and Special Camping Programmes.
The college has a unit of NSS. The NSS students are provided training in community service and civic awareness. They are also expected to take part in the week long annual camp organized to create awareness in villages. Students can also join the Red Ribbon Club which creates awareness on AIDS.

A sound mind makes a sound body”. As to this saying, sports activity plays a vital role. The physical education shapes the individual physically, mentally, socially and morally. The college believes in promoting health and physical fitness through sports and games. The college has a good sports field and sufficient space for training students in athletics and major games like basketball, volleyball, football, cricket etc. Students have ample scope for participation at collegiate, inter collegiate and state events.

Besides these, the physical education department also conducted various intramural competitions for staff and students.

In sriram polytechnic college, each and every year the physical director conduct various competitions and all the students and staff members are participated in all games.

This Institution is member of IPAA (Inter Polytechnic Athletic Association).our students are participating in various inter polytechnic sports activities throughout tamilnadu. And students of this institution won in many sports events. and also we are conducting Intramural Sports activities.
